Congratulations to all of those newly-engaged, Bride & Grooms-to-be that we have seen popping up all over the festive season. We hope you enjoyed the celebrations! But now its January and no doubt you've written the 'to-do' list 100 times already? Part 2 of our #BrideGuide series is all about what to do next....
1. Pinterest
Every girl love a good Pinterest session but for future Brides, Pinterest if your best friend. Start your brain storming sessions from quirky favour ideas to dream dress inspiration.
2. Budget
Working out your budget is a must before you start any of your supplier searching. Knowing what you have available will determine your venue, time of year and guest list.
3. Venue
Finding your venue early is crucial as this will determine so much of your future wedding planning from your colour scheme (if you're having one) to the style of your gown. Browse Harpers Bazaar's roundup of the best UK wedding venues here.
4. Book your in-demand wedding suppliers
Your photographers, wedding bands and DJs only allocate 1 wedding per day, and if you're hoping for a mid-wedding season date these suppliers get booked up months and even years in advance. Be sure to confirm these as soon as your budget allows.
5. Find your Dress!
The most important part of all...finding your dream dress. First, start by reading our #BrideGuide to finding the perfect silhouette so you know what to avoid and what to try. We advise our Brides to bring no more than 2 people with them for their first consultations as the opinions of all your Bridesmaids, family and future in-laws is too much to consider so early on. If you're going down the bespoke route, collect any tear sheets from magazines, red carpet dress ideas, fabric/colour swatches or even dig out your all-time-favourite dress from your wardrobe as these tiny details will help build the starting blocks to your own unique design. Once you have your dress design finalised and your toile fitting done its then time to start thinking about your under-garments, shoes and accessories to complete your look. 6. Keep to a Schedule
Make a plan and stick to it- give yourself dates when you want to have certain jobs ticked off your list. If you break it down in to manageable amounts you will overcome the sudden wedding panic. Split your tasks up amongst your Bridesmaids, friends and family and most importantly enjoy the ride, its just like one big shopping trip after all!
