From our Liverpool studio, we offer a bespoke service for those brides looking to create a custom wedding day look. This is an incredibly creative, personal and unique experience whereby designer Jessica will work closely with you to refine and finalise your design. Jessica will guide you in your decisions on silhouette, selecting fabrics and styling details and the team of in-house tailors will be on hand every step of the process to tweek and perfect the fit and finish of your piece(s).
For those Brides wanting to bring their own design to life, we welcome you to build a ‘look and feel’ moodboard with us and share any ideas and references you may have.
Initial bespoke consultation
Prior to this appointment you will have shared with us your moodboard & references and ideas about your day and your vision over email. This helps Jessica prepare for your appointment by selecting core collection styles that may be useful to try on and pulling fabric options to look at. From our ready to wear designs we are ocassionally able to pull looks together to give you a feel for silhouettes and styles then look at different fabric and styling options for your own custom design.
Following this appointment sketches and quotes will be provided.
Measurements
An initial set of measurements will be taken at all first appointments. If you wish to postpone your measurements being taken for a later date, please let your stylist know this at first appointment. Alternatively, if you feel your measurements have changed since they were first taken, please contact the team to have updated measurements asap.
Toile Fitting
For Brides having a custom design whereby design elements need to be finalised, a toile/ mockup will be made. For bespoke, this can be a crucial part to the design process as we work alongside our Bride to perfect elements of her design. The toile will be drawn on, cut and pinned to reflect any alterations needed to design/ fit and silhouette. The toile then becomes the pattern for your final fabrics.
Dress fittings
The number of dress fittings depend on the garment being made and the complexity of design, on average bespoke Brides will have approx 3-4 fittings. For our Brides that are not local to our Liverpool studio we will work to condense your fittings as much as possible to limit the number of trips you will need to make.
Underwear & Shoes
It is important all clients have the correct underwear with them for all fittings. The undergarments worn really affect the overall shape and size of the body and it is important that this remains constant throughout the fitting process. No matter the shape or size, nude seamless, undergarments are advised as these give a smooth finish to the garment. Heels must also be brought to each fitting if the garment is floor length, if this is not possible for the first fitting then a similar height heel that will be worn is needed. It is necessary to have the correct heels by the 2nd fitting stage at the latest. Your stylist can give recommendations on underwear for your chosen design if needed.
Completion & Collection
As all garments are made to measure we like to leave the final fitting to the week of / week before your wedding date where possible. We recommend coming in to us early morning Tues/Weds/Thurs for zip and fastening markings to be done, we will then work on your dress immediately after to complete and call you a few hours later when it is ready for final try on and to be taken home with you. Any balance must be paid before collection date.
